About Midjourney
Midjourney is an AI visual-creation platform for generating pictures from written prompts and turning images into short animated videos. Users work in the Midjourney web interface or its Discord integration, adjust generation parameters, reuse style references, produce variations, upscale promising outputs, and use an image editor to modify details or extend a canvas. The current V8.2 image-model documentation describes an improved Edit Model that can combine up to four reference images and use conversational edit instructions; older V6/V7 Character Reference and Omni Reference explanations should not be presented as the current default workflow. Style Reference helps keep an art direction consistent across a project, but results remain probabilistic rather than pixel-perfect design files. Midjourney sells four USD subscriptions: Basic $10/month ($96/year, equivalent to $8/month), Standard $30 ($288/year or $24/month equivalent), Pro $60 ($576/year or $48/month equivalent), and Mega $120 ($1,152/year or $96/month equivalent). Basic includes 3.3 hours of Fast GPU time per month. Standard adds unlimited relaxed image generations; Pro and Mega additionally allow relaxed standard-definition video and Stealth Mode. Relax jobs can take longer; high-definition video remains Fast-only. Additional Fast time costs $4/hour. The normal Midjourney website and Discord have no free tier or trial; a separate niji·journey mobile app has a limited trial, which must not be generalized. On the product-specific G2 reviews page, a non-random selection of recent customers praises stylized images and fast concept development while some mention prompt precision, plan limits and difficult lettering or specific compositions. These are external reviewers' reports, not Toolbaaz tests. Midjourney is useful for moodboards, advertising concepts and visual exploration, but buyers requiring faithful brand lettering, exact object placement, fully private low-cost work or unrestricted free experimentation may prefer a different tool. Its output is public by default unless correct Pro/Mega Stealth settings and a private creation surface are used; public Discord channels remain visible even with Stealth enabled. Companies above USD 1 million in gross yearly revenue must subscribe to Pro or Mega to use creations commercially under the vendor's terms. Legal ownership is still subject to applicable copyright laws and third-party rights.
