About Nosto
Nosto is a commerce experience platform for online retailers that connects customer behavior, catalog information and content to tailor shopping journeys. Its Product Experience Cloud includes personalized search, category merchandising, product recommendations, dynamic bundles, post-purchase upsells and personalized emails. The separate Content Experience Cloud supports on-site personalization, A/B testing, behavioral pop-ups and shoppable user-generated content. Nosto calls its intelligence layer experience.AI and now markets Huginn, an AI commerce agent for surfacing and executing optimization opportunities. These are modules of a commerce platform, not a single cheap AI writing subscription. Nosto sells modular packages through sales consultation rather than a publicly priced standard checkout. The official pricing page says quotes combine a base platform fee and a fee based on commercial volume, including GMV and traffic, and vary with selected modules, support and scalability. Qualified retailers may arrange a guided proof of concept, but this is not a free self-serve trial. Enterprise uptime commitments, private infrastructure and priority help depend on an agreement. Capterra currently displays a $0.01 per-user/month starting price and a free trial, which conflicts with the current official site and must not be repeated as current Nosto pricing. Implementation is more involved than installing a simple plugin: a store must synchronize a clean product catalog and relevant events, define audiences and placements, review privacy/cookie configurations and monitor experiments. Official technical documentation says Nosto can use Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce, Shopware and BigCommerce integrations, but capabilities differ by host platform. Product search and merchandising require practical validation against each retailer’s catalog, locales and traffic. In a small non-random sample of G2 customer reviews, positive feedback emphasizes relevant product recommendations, storefront conversion optimization and helpful support. Critical reviewers mention learning curves, analytics gaps and costs or implementation requirements. G2 aggregates apply to the overall Nosto platform and are not Toolbaaz tests or proof of claimed uplift. Nosto fits growing ecommerce merchandising teams with meaningful traffic and resources to measure results; it is a weak fit for a new low-volume shop demanding a published fixed price, a guaranteed conversion lift or instant no-configuration personalization.
Best for
Ecommerce merchandising managers, Shopify Plus and mid-market/enterprise retailers seeking AI-powered product discovery, recommendations and experimentation across a significant catalog.
Nosto pros and cons
Pros
- Modular search, recommendations and content personalization let retailers select relevant use cases.
- Official docs detail sophisticated merchandising rules, AI-powered synonyms and search analytics.
- Works with popular ecommerce systems, though implementation depth varies.
- A/B testing can compare ranking and personalization hypotheses instead of assuming uplift.
- Enterprise proposals can include priority support and scalability commitments.
Cons

- −Not a simple free AI plugin; no standard free self-service trial.
- −Catalog syncing, tracking, segmentation and experiments require operational setup.
- −Enterprise SLAs, infrastructure and advanced support are contract-dependent.
- −Nosto G2 reviews flag learning and analytics limitations; outcomes vary by implementation.

Pricing at a glance
Contact sales. Modular modules such as personalized search, product recommendations, category merchandising, dynamic bundles and upsells. Nosto describes a base platform fee plus a fixed component based on store GMV/traffic. Currency, billing period, minimums, module combinations and implementation fees are not public.
Contact sales. Separate content modules such as A/B testing, content personalization, pop-ups and shoppable UGC. Quote varies by selected use cases, traffic and service level; do not treat as a second fixed per-user tier.
Not a permanent $0 plan and not a universal free trial. Eligible merchants can discuss a structured PoC after contacting sales. Pricing, duration, eligibility, any charges and implementation support are subject to proposal.
Custom enterprise quote atop selected modules. Dedicated infrastructure and 99.99% contractual uptime SLA are marketed as a scalability package, but availability, fees and scope depend on contract.
