About Runway
Runway is a web-based creative AI platform for generating and refining video, still images and sound. Its current creative suite covers text-to-video and image-to-video models such as Gen-4.5, multi-model image creation, generative audio, creative assistants, upscaling and asset management. Gen-4.5 supports 2–10 second clips at a cost of 12 credits per second on eligible plans. The US Standard plan is US$15/month paid monthly or US$12/month equivalent billed annually and includes 625 monthly credits; Pro provides 2,250 credits, and Max provides 9,500 credits with limited rollover. The free tier supplies just 125 one-time credits and limited model access. Runway's newer Pro and Max plans may show an Unlimited Mode for supported models, but this is not universal free generation, and an older Unlimited subscription tier is described as legacy. A September 2026 Team plan adds per-seat pooled credits, shared projects and review features. Public Runway G2 reviews praise accessible visual concepting while raising credit spend and imperfect hands/motion consistency. Toolbaaz did not generate, export or benchmark any videos.
Best for
Creative professionals, independent filmmakers, social media teams, advertising agencies and production groups seeking rapid AI video concepts and edits; less suitable for guaranteed frame-level perfection or unlimited unconstrained renders.
Runway pros and cons
Pros

- Text and reference-image prompting support fast exploratory video work.
- Free one-time credits allow basic evaluation without subscription.
- Current tiers span individuals, teams and enterprise administration.
- Team plan has pooled credits, shared projects and workflow connectors.
Cons
- −AI video iterations can spend credits quickly; G2 users report expensive experiments.
- −Standard/Pro monthly credits reset and do not roll over.
- −Unlimited Mode works only for selected models, with possible queue/concurrency constraints.
- −Visual artifacts such as warped human actions can require reruns, per sampled reviews.
- −Runway application subscriptions and Runway API credits are separate billing systems.
