About n8n
n8n is a source-available workflow automation platform for connecting business applications, APIs and AI tools through node-based workflows. Teams arrange triggers, transformations, conditional branches, API calls, credentials and actions in a visual editor, optionally adding JavaScript/code nodes, AI-agent logic and Model Context Protocol connectivity. It runs as n8n-hosted Cloud or on infrastructure managed by the buyer. Its official pricing distinguishes workflow executions—the number of complete workflow runs—from the individual action/step billing used by some competitors, although workflows may still incur outside vendor API, hosting or model charges. The self-hosted Community Edition has no n8n subscription charge, but operators pay for compute, monitoring, updates, backups and other vendor services.
